President Donald Trump announced Monday that he is deploying a safety task force to Memphis, Tennessee, describing the city as \u201cdeeply troubled\u201d.<\/p>\n
He also hinted which Democratic-led cities that could be next on his list.<\/p>\n

\nSpeaking from the Oval Office, Trump signed a presidential memorandum to establish the Memphis Safe Task Force, emphasizing the need to combat rising crime. \u201cToday, at the request of Gov. Bill Lee of Tennessee\u2026 I\u2019m signing a Presidential Memorandum to establish the Memphis Safe Task Force \u2014 and it\u2019s very important because of the crime that\u2019s going on,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n
The measure didn\u2019t come as a complete surprise. Just last week, during an interview with Fox & Friends, Trump called Memphis \u201ctroubled\u201d and said, \u201cwe\u2019re going to fix that just like we did Washington.\u201d<\/p>\n
The move is part of the Trump administration\u2019s ongoing effort to send federal forces to Democratic-led cities, following deployments to Washington, D.C., in August and Los Angeles in June, which aimed to quell anti-ICE protests.<\/p>\n
