Former co-host of \u201cThe View,\u201d Rosie O\u2019Donnell, is claiming that ABC is preparing to cancel the show as part of an effort to appease former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n
In a TikTok video, O\u2019Donnell responded to a Daily Beast report that ABC executives, including Disney CEO Bob Iger, are reviewing the show\u2019s \u201cliberal bias\u201d and urging its hosts to tone it down.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey say they\u2019re not canceling it\u2014they\u2019re just \u2018reviewing the bias,\u2019\u201d O\u2019Donnell said. \u201cWhich is code for\u2014we\u2019re going to cancel it, we\u2019re just trying to soften you up first.\u201d<\/p>\n
O\u2019Donnell dubbed Trump the \u201corange messiah\u201d and accused the network of targeting dissenting viewpoints. \u201cThey say they want \u2018balance.\u2019 But what they mean is silence. This isn\u2019t about bias\u2014it\u2019s about obedience,\u201d she said, adding that any program out of step with \u201cTrumpism\u201d is at risk.<\/p>\n

Referencing a poem about the Holocaust, she warned, \u201cFirst they came for the journalists. Then the educators. Then the librarians. Now it\u2019s Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg.\u201d<\/p>\n
She also described the current political climate as \u201ca dictatorship with good lighting.\u201d O\u2019Donnell fled the country to Ireland when Trump was elected.<\/p>\n
The former View co-host urged women to speak out rather than retreat. \u201cThe most dangerous sound in the world is a woman who knows what she\u2019s talking about\u2014and refuses to stop,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
ABC and The View declined to comment when contacted by Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n
Trump spokesperson Taylor Rogers dismissed O\u2019Donnell\u2019s comments, calling her \u201can irrelevant loser with too much time on her hands.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rogers also criticized The View\u2019s ratings, suggesting the show is already on the brink of cancellation.<\/p>\n
The controversy follows CBS\u2019 cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last month, which came after the network settled a lawsuit with Trump over a 60 Minutes interview edit involving Vice President Kamala Harris. The move fueled speculation that networks are scaling back left-leaning programming.<\/p>\n
O\u2019Donnell has a long history of criticizing Trump, most of it comprising baseless claims.<\/p>\n
The former Hollywood actress and comedian said her decades-long feud with Donald Trump reached new heights after the president threatened to revoke her U.S. citizenship following her move to Ireland.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe still uses me as a punching bag and a way to sort of rile his base,\u201d O\u2019Donnell said in mid-July. \u201cAnd I\u2019m very proud to be opposed to every single thing he says and does and represents. I think he\u2019s a racist, and he\u2019s misogynistic, and he\u2019s sexist, and he is a danger to women and children all over the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
Trump then posted on Truth Social that O\u2019Donnell is \u201ca Threat to Humanity\u201d and that he is \u201cgiving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship.\u201d He added, \u201cShe should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!\u201d<\/p>\n
O\u2019Donnell fired back on social media, calling Trump \u201ca criminal con man sexual abusing liar\u201d and \u201ca dangerous old soulless man with dementia who lacks empathy, compassion and basic humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n
White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson then dismissed O\u2019Donnell\u2019s comments as \u201cunhinged rants\u201d and \u201ca symptom of late-stage TDS.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThank goodness she\u2019s no longer in the United States,\u201d Jackson told Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n
The rivalry dates back to 2006, when O\u2019Donnell criticized Trump on The View over his handling of a Miss USA scandal. Since then, they have traded insults over engagements, health scares, politics, and the 2016 and 2024 elections.<\/p>\n
O\u2019Donnell confirmed in March that she left the U.S. for Ireland after Trump\u2019s 2024 win, citing safety and equal rights concerns for her family.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that\u2019s when we will consider coming back,\u201d she said, calling the political climate \u201cheartbreaking.\u201d<\/p>\n
