Attorney General Pam Bondi has ordered a grand jury to look into allegations of a criminal conspiracy surrounding the \u2018Russiagate\u2019 investigation into then-2016 GOP nominee and then President Donald Trump\u2019s campaign and administration.<\/p>\n
The order comes after Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and CIA Director John Ratcliffe made criminal referrals to the Justice Department following the declassification of documents that appear to implicate intelligence community officials in then-President Barack Obama\u2019s administration conspiring to push a fabricated \u2018Trump-Russia collusion\u2019 narrative hatched by 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton\u2019s campaign.<\/p>\n
Fox News was the first to report on Bondi\u2019s move.<\/p>\n
\u201cFox News can confirm that Attorney General Pam Bondi today signed an order directing an unnamed U.S. federal prosecutor to take evidence to a grand jury relating to an alleged conspiracy to tie then 2016 candidate Donald Trump to the country of Russia,\u201d network correspondent David Spunt told host Will Cain on Monday.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow, Fox News reviewed the one-page order just hours ago, signed by the Attorney General. A source familiar with the probe confirms this as well. While a DoJ spokesperson declined to comment on this report of an investigation, Fox is told Attorney General Bondi is taking the referrals from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard \u2018very seriously,\u2019\u201d Spunt said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe spokesperson says that Bondi believes there is \u2018clear cause for deep concern\u2019 and a need for the next steps. Now, this move, Will, comes just a couple of weeks after the Director of National Intelligence \u2014 you see her right there \u2014 Tulsi Gabbard sent a criminal referral to the Justice Department regarding what she says proves there was a conspiracy to undermine Trump\u2019s candidacy and later his first term in office,\u201d the correspondent continued.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow, to be clear, today, there are no charges that have been filed, no indictments. This is incredibly early in the process. What we have here is taking evidence the Justice Department believes it has to a grand jury to secure an eventual indictment or indictments,\u201d he said. \u201cWe don\u2019t know exactly where the grand jury will meet. We don\u2019t know who will go before the grand jury. And that\u2019s by design because grand juries determine if there\u2019s enough evidence to indict, and grand juries are secretive in the American legal system, so it\u2019s normal not to know all of the answers.<\/p>\n
\u201cAgain, the DoJ declining on any comment regarding this investigation. But, Will, big news. This was signed by the Attorney General Pam Bondi today to take this evidence of an alleged conspiracy to a grand jury with the hope to get an indictment or multiple indictments,\u201d Spunt added.<\/p>\n

\u201cFormer Obama intelligence officials, including John Brennan, James Clapper and James Comey, have drawn scrutiny from Trump officials for their alleged involvement in developing intelligence that undermined Trump\u2019s 2016 victory,\u201d Fox reported.<\/p>\n
Others believe that Clinton herself is also implicated in the alleged conspiracy, including top-rated broadcaster Megyn Kelly.<\/p>\n
Previous reports had implicated Clinton\u2019s 2016 campaign as having been responsible for the creation of the so-called \u201cSteele Dossier,\u201d a collection of wild and unfounded accusations involving Trump that included the claim he was working with Moscow to sway the election in his favor.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis woman should be in jail. Literally, Hillary Clinton should be behind bars. And so should the people who worked for her who did this. This is so blatantly corrupt. She wanted to distract from her email scandal. She cooked up a plan to accuse Trump of being a Russian agent in order to distract from her own legitimate scandal,\u201d Kelly said during a show segment last week.<\/p>\n
