\u201c[Trump\u2019s] approval ratings are skyrocketing,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0raved Johnson.\u00a0\u201cCNN had a story a day or two ago \u2014 he was at a 90 percent approval rating! There\u2019s never been a president that high,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0he went on to claim.<\/p>\n

However, according to a July 17\u00a0CNN article<\/a>, a recent poll the news organization conducted revealed that only 42% of Americans support the president and 37% believe he has set the correct goals.<\/p>\n

Additionally, according to a different poll conducted by Reuters and IPSOS, 41% of US voters who cast ballots supported Trump\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n

More than half (55 percent) of respondents to a third poll conducted by The Economist do not approve of the president.<\/p>\n

According to Rasmussen Reports, as of July 18, half of Americans support the businessman-turned-politician, making it the most positive survey for Trump in recent years.<\/p>\n

I hear you question, so where and how did Johnson arrive at a 90 percent approval rating? According to\u00a0MSNBC<\/a>, the House Speaker is alleged to have disregarded Democrats\u2019 opinions about Trump in favor of discussing Republicans\u2019 feelings about the president.<\/p>\n

According to the\u00a0CNN<\/a>\u00a0survey Johnson cited, 88 percent of Republicans support the president; it appears that Johnson rounded this figure up to 90 without much thought.<\/p>\n

Although the Trump administration likes to believe that the president is among the most popular in American politics, according to\u00a0AZ Central<\/a>, Bill Clinton actually received 66 percent of the vote.<\/p>\n

Barack Obama\u2019s approval rating during the height of his presidency was 59 percent, while Ronald Reagan came in second with 63 percent.<\/p>\n

The lowest ever recorded? Nixon, Richard. He received a pitiful 24 percent approval rating. Aww.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s 100-day approval rating was lower than any other president in the previous 60 years, although Nixon\u2019s was startlingly high overall.<\/p>\n

It appears that Americans\u2019 opinions of Trump during his first term as president are comparable to his current approval numbers.<\/p>\n

After Trump\u2019s first 100 days in 2017, 42 percent of participants approved of him, which is comparable to CNN\u2019s current ratings for the president, according to comparisons done last month.<\/p>\n
