Before running for president, Donald Trump had placed his children in key roles within his company and television empire. However, they maintained a more low-key presence during his first presidential campaign.<\/p>\n

As political expert Redd Galen, who worked on George Bush\u2019s campaigns, put it: \u201cWhen it comes to Trump\u2019s family, I don\u2019t think any of them really understood the full force of what a presidential campaign can bring to bear on a person.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking in 2024<\/h2>\n

While Kai Trump kept a very low profile in 2016, she made a much stronger impression in 2024. For example, she was introduced by her father and spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention on July 17.<\/p>\n

It was on the third day of the convention that Kai took the stage to share with America what her grandfather is really like.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe media makes my grandpa seem like a different person. But I know him for who he is. He is very caring and loving. He truly wants the best for this country. And he will fight every single day to make America great again,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

In her first-ever speech, Kai also shared that the the\u00a0president-elect<\/a>\u00a0is \u201djust a normal grandpa.\u201d \u201dHe gives us candy and soda when our parents aren\u2019t looking,\u201d the teen revealed.<\/p>\n

Kai also mentioned that her grandfather always checks in on how his grandkids are \u201ddoing in school.\u201d She recalled, \u201dWhen I made the high honor roll, he printed it out to show his friends how proud he was of me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Many people felt that Kai made a very natural and impressive impression during her speech \u2013 but in reality, she was quite nervous, something she admitted afterwards.<\/p>\n

Shares the love of golf<\/h2>\n

Kai Trump\u2019s love for golf is undeniable, and it seems she\u2019s following in some pretty impressive footsteps.<\/p>\n

After moving to South Florida at the age of 13, Kai found herself right at home at The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach.<\/p>\n

This school is known for producing some golf royalty, with famous golfers like Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman sending their kids there. Not to mention, Charlie Woods, Tiger Woods\u2019 son, is also part of the school\u2019s golf scene and helped the varsity team score a state title as a freshman.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s not just school golf that Kai excels in.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, she won the ladies\u2019 club championship at Trump\u2019s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, showing she\u2019s a serious competitor.<\/p>\n

In August 2024, she shared some more exciting news with her followers \u2014 the 17-year-old announced her commitment to the University of Miami\u2019s women\u2019s golf team.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Miami,\u201d Kai wrote in the caption. \u201cI would like to thank my mom, Vanessa, and my dad, Don, for always supporting me through my journey. I would also like to thank my great team for getting me to this point.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kai didn\u2019t forget to thank her grandfather, Donald Trump, in her post either.<\/p>\n

Intense battles with grandpa<\/h2>\n

Kai Trump clearly spends a lot of time on the golf course with her grandfather.<\/p>\n

Her Instagram is full of snaps of the two of them swinging clubs and sharing laughs on the green. But what\u2019s really going down on those fairways?<\/p>\n

Well, according to Kai, things get pretty intense when it\u2019s her versus Grandpa. Speaking to\u00a0YouTuber Grant Horvat<\/a>\u00a0in July, she joked about how the competition is fierce when they play together.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a\u00a0stiff<\/em>\u00a0competition,\u201d she said with a grin, hinting that Donald Trump isn\u2019t exactly the type to let his grandkid win, even if she is family!<\/p>\n

\u201dGenuinely, he always gives me a run for my money. It\u2019s pretty close,\u201d\u00a0she said.<\/p>\n

In the video with Grant Horvat, Kai took on a stroke play golf match at Trump National in Jupiter, FL.<\/p>\n
