{"id":3440,"date":"2025-06-18T18:02:43","date_gmt":"2025-06-18T18:02:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trendusa1.online\/?p=3440"},"modified":"2025-06-18T18:02:43","modified_gmt":"2025-06-18T18:02:43","slug":"people-disturbed-after-realising-what-yellow-stuff-in-your-eyes-when-you-wake-up-actually-is","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trendusa1.online\/?p=3440","title":{"rendered":"People disturbed after realising what yellow stuff in your eyes when you wake up actually is"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There\u2019s a whole \u2018war\u2019 that goes on with our peepers during our snoozing.<\/p>\n<p>There is truly no greater joy than getting into bed after a long day at work, drifting off to the land of nod.<\/p>\n<p>However, waking up the following morning is not so fun, especially when you drag yourself out of bed, take a peak in the mirror and find a load of gross yellow goop in the corners of your eyes.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a pretty universal experience, yet while we\u2019re all used to just wiping it away and pretending that the human body isn\u2019t totally disgusting, not many of us really know what that \u2018yellow sleep\u2019 actually is.<\/p>\n<p>After a TikTok user shared the truth behind why we get it, people have been left in sh0ck.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you have ever woken up in the morning and you have some crust on your eyes,\u201d Andrew Huberman explained. \u201cAnd you know that crust, that kind of yellowy stuff, sometimes it\u2019s yellow, I know this is kind of gross.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued: \u201cThat\u2019s actually dead bacteria that your eyes have successfully defeated during your night\u2019s sleep.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-4\">\n<div data-type=\"_mgwidget\" data-widget-id=\"1590529\" data-uid=\"031b9\">\n<div id=\"mgw1590529_031b9\">\n<div class=\"mgbox card-media\">\n<div class=\"mgheader\">\n\u201cSo when you wipe those away, you\u2019re taking the casualties of a war that you won during your night\u2019s sleep and you\u2019re whisking those away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yep, the eye produces a small amount of oils and mucus to stay moist and, as you don\u2019t blink when you get some shut-eye, the discharge can collect in the corners.<\/p>\n<p>It can take a variety of different forms with the most common being crusty, sticky, thick, thin, white, clear, or slightly yellow.<\/p>\n<p>People were mind-blown when they found out the reason behind the crust, taking to the video\u2019s comment section to share their thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>Getty Stock Images<br \/>\nOne said: \u201cI refuse to lose even when I\u2019m sleeping.\u201d Another user rightly commented: \u201cStarting the day with a victory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A third user said: \u201cWhen I was in kindergar[t]en i put them in my tea,\u201d followed by a skull emoji. We don\u2019t even know what to say to that one.<\/p>\n<p>Now, while eye discharge is totally normal and shouldn\u2019t be a cause for concern, if you eye has lots of sticky yellow pus on the eyelashes, this can be a sign of conjunctivitis.<\/p>\n<p>The eye condition is caused by infection or allergies and while it usually gets better in a couple of weeks without treatment \u2013 it\u2019s still a right pain to deal with, making your eyes red, burn, itch and feel gritty, as well as producing pus that sticks to the lashes.<\/p>\n<p>In order to help ease the symptoms of conjunctivitis, the NHS recommends:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Wash your eyelids with clean water. Boil the water and let it cool down, then gently wipe your eyelashes with a clean cotton wool pad to clean off crusts (1 piece for each eye).<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Hold a cold flannel on your eyes for a few minutes to cool them down.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There\u2019s a whole \u2018war\u2019 that goes on with our peepers during our snoozing.
