Nancy was last seen on Saturday, and concern mounted when she didn\u2019t show up to church on Sunday, prompting a friend to alert authorities.<\/p>\n
Search-and-rescue teams have been scouring the area both on the ground and from the air since then. On Sunday, February 1, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos held a press conference to provide details. While a homicide team was brought in to assist, investigators initially had no confirmed signs of criminal activity<\/p>\n
We\u2019re throwing everything we have at this case,\u201d Sheriff Nanos said. \u201cNancy Guthrie is 84 and not in good physical health, which is a serious concern. What we\u2019re seeing at the residence is troubling, and detectives are examining the scene thoroughly.\u201d<\/p>\n
Savannah Guthrie did not appear on the Today show on Monday. In a statement shared with the program, she said:
