The\u00a0Pennsylvania<\/span>\u00a0man who killed his mother-of-four\u00a0Uber<\/span>\u00a0driver has been sentenced to life behind bars without parole for the brutal murder.<\/p>\n

Calvin Crew, 25, was sentenced on Monday to life without parole for the 2022 slaying of Christina Spicuzza.<\/p>\n

Harrowing\u00a0dashboard camera footage<\/span>\u00a0showed the 38-year-old mother-of-four begging for her life when Crew put a gun to her head after she picked him up for a ride.<\/p>\n

Crew was convicted of first-degree murder in February and faced the death penalty, reported\u00a0WTAE.<\/p>\n

However, Spicuzza\u2019s family asked that he be spared and the murderer was sentenced to life,\u00a0with an additional 13 to 26 years for kidnapping and robbery charges.<\/p>\n

\u2018You should have the death penalty but we showed mercy,\u2019 said Spicuzza\u2019s mother, Cindy Spicuzza. \u2018You executed her. No mercy, no remorse. It was abhorrent. It was murder.\u2019<\/p>\n

Crew was not in the courtroom for sentencing at his own request, and his defense attorney said his client maintains his innocence and plans to appeal, according to\u00a0KDKA.<\/p>\n

\u2018No reason other than a coward. A coward who couldn\u2019t be here today to face this,\u2019 said Spicuzza\u2019s life partner, Brandon Marto.<\/p>\n

Spicuzza is remembered as a loving mother who was always trying to spread joy, according to her\u00a0obituary.<\/p>\n

\u2018Christi was first and foremost a loving mother. She also enjoyed art, crafting, and her bible study,\u2019 her family said.<\/p>\n

\u2018Anyone who knew Christi knew her smile could light up every room she was in. No matter what was going on in her life, Christi was always smiling, always positive, and always loving.\u2019<\/p>\n

Police said Crew used his girlfriend\u2019s phone to order the Uber on February 10, 2022, then held a gun to Spicuzza\u2019s head and told her to keep driving.<\/p>\n

She reached back four seconds after the gun was raised to her head, felt the weapon, and incredulously said \u2018you\u2019ve got to be joking,\u2019 according to\u00a0The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.<\/p>\n

Crew told her again to keep driving, and she told him that she had a family: \u2018I\u2019m begging you. I have four kids.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I got a family too,\u2019 Crew retorted. \u2018Now drive.\u2019<\/p>\n

Repeatedly, he told her to \u2018complete the trip.\u2019 She asked him multiple times to put the gun down, but he kept it pointed at the back of her neck.<\/p>\n
