Among the victims were Lora Roberts, a devoted mother of five, and Twila Tanner, a beloved mother and grandmother. Friends remembered Roberts for her kindness and work helping people experiencing homelessness, while relatives shared heartbreaking tributes to Tanner. Authorities identified 45-year-old Matthew Stone Sr. as the suspected gunman, who was also found dead at the scene. As families struggled with funeral costs and unimaginable grief, a painful revelation emerged: according to loved ones, Roberts had gone there to help her niece escape an abusive man, and Tanner had accompanied her.
