The infant’s death occurred early Monday in Jardim das Américas 2nd Stage, a neighborhood in Anápolis, approximately 55 kilometers from Goiânia. According to the account the father gave authorities, exhaustion overtook him while he was cradling his child, and the baby fell. Personnel from the Mobile Emergency Care Service, known as SAMU, arrived at the scene and confirmed that the child had already died.
